Job Summary and Qualifications

- You will be responsible for the identification and clinical evaluation and tracking of trauma service patients.
- You will direct ongoing patient tracking, chart abstracting, and data entry of trauma service patients into the trauma registry data bank.
- You will be responsible for quality assessment of patient care to include assisting with design and development of QA indicators, active participation in outcome review, and initial screening for peer review issues.
- You will trauma registry data and QA activities will comply with state and national guidelines to include the state trauma rules and regulations, American College of Surgeons Committee on Trauma Optimal Guidelines, and JCAHO criteria. Provides ongoing statistical reports and assists with developing specialized reports as required or assigned.
- You will participate in trauma research as appropriate.
- You will serve as a liaison between the trauma service and related departments.
Position Requirements:
- Current licensure in the State of Colorado as a Registered Nurse, or current active multistate nursing licensure or able to obtain licensure.
- Preferred: TNCC, BLS, ACLS, ENPC or PALS through AHA or ARC
- BSN (Bachelor of Science in Nursing) or bachelor’s degree in a related field preferred.
- Prefer experience as a Trauma Coordinator. If none, must have three years recent (within past four years) Emergency Department or Critical Care experience, preferably in a trauma center.
- Experience with Quality Improvement desired.
- Must have effective verbal communication skills to interact clearly with staff, physicians, and administration.<
