Position Summary
The SCU RN is responsible for complex assessment, high intensity therapies and interventions, and continuous nursing vigilance. Effective communications skills are essential. The critical care nurse relies on a specialized body of knowledge, skills and experience to provide safe patient and family centered-care and create environments that are healing, humane, and caring. The critical care nurse is a patient advocate. The SCU patient population includes pediatric, adult and geriatric patients.
Required Minimum Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs)

* License/Certifications: Current License as a Registered Nurse in the State of Maine; Current BLS Certification. As required by department, including Annual Electronic Fetal Monitoring competency for any RN assisting Laboring Women.
* Experience: A minimum of one year in an acute care setting preferred.
